I made great strides in knitting this evening. It's amazing how quickly worsted weight yarn knits up into a sock. My current project is almost the same length after a few hours as the other sock that I've been working on for four days. Both gift socks for special men in my life - one a sophisticated grey and one a rustic oatmeal. Both a real treat to work with. I love knitting!

I was wondering if you really loved knitting, but now that you've actually confessed in in 3 to-the-point words, I believe it! :)
Where did you get the yarn for those man socks? What kind?
The darker grey is Knit Picks Essential Tweed in the colour Flint. It has little speckles of colour randomly spaced. I wonder how long they will last with washing? The lighter grey is a 100% wool yarn from Finland. My dad is turning 80 in March and he has Finnish roots, so I thought it was appropriate. The yarn smells heavenly - like it was just sheared and spun.
